HI. I'm looking to buy a new laptop adn the D630 seems to be fully loaded at a very good price. Can anyone tlel me more about this laptop? What's the build quality like? is it all plastic? and does it look better than the photos?

I buy these for office workers. They're very solid and the lid is made of some metal-ish material (magnesium?). They have been pretty dependable so far.

Only things I don't like about them are that the screen quality is not so good (colors a bit washed out, a little grainy) and the mouse nub isn't anywhere as good as the ThinkPad's.

A lot of people do, there's a whole thread full of owners who love it.: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=139422

Like Aleman said, these are very well built. As for the looks, your mileage may vary. It all depends on what you consider good looking. If your into a flashy, glossy, system like the HP Pavilions, then you may not like it. I do though, both the dark gray and light gray portions actually have some sort of metallic specks in them that makes it look very interesting. :)
