Well, today I was pissed at my laptop when one of the keys was on the fritz. The colon/semi-colon key was acting like it was possessed. I popped the key off the keyboard and I couldn't see anything wrong. It kept thinking it was continuously pressed. It became too difficult to type on so I gave up, and the issue didn't resolve itself with turning it on and off.
Last week the optical drive stopped working. It receives power so it opens, closes, and tries to read the disk. However, the computer can't see that the drive is there, neither in the bios nor windows. I removed it and put it back in, but there was no effect.
The touchpad is a little wonky. It is usually fine, but every now and then it gets messed up as it is barely responsive to any input. It used to happen more than it does now though. I have experienced this on two other 1545's.
I'm going to RMA this laptop real soon. I wish I could just get rid of it and have a 1555 instead. The Studio is just so much nicer but this doesn't come across in specs or on paper.

So anyway, Dell fixed the problems in a very agreeable manner and I'm a happy camper. Maybe they are so nice because I've bought 8 of their computers in last 6 months or maybe they just really are this good, IDK.
Anyone have issues with their Inspiron 1545's?
