I'm now debating on getting an E1705 instead of the E1505 just for the graphics card. I wanted the smaller screen of the E1505, but the graphics card is really important to me. It's basically coming down to picking between a 15 screen or an awesome gfx card.

I was wondering what the Radeon X1400 was like. What games are proven to run on it with what settings? How well does it run, etc. Anyone have it that can testify to it's capabilites?

    I had a 1505 with a 1400.
I played HL2, D3, and Quake4 on it. The were all playable on "medium" settings, ie: 800x600 with some of the goodies turned on and 2xAA at 30-50 fps or so. This is all going from memory.
I decided to send it back and get the 1705, and there is really no comparison between the 1400 and 7900 in the 1705.
If games are important and you'll be keeping the laptop for a couple of years or more. I think the 1705 with the 7900 is the way to go.

yea, if u really want games, i suggest the e1705. but if u want portablility, then you want the e1505. unless of course, you want both, and dont mind not getting a dell. i think its asus (correct me if im wrong), that has a 15" with an x1600 video card

Asus has a 14" with a built in X1600 256. That is the W3j. They also have a couple others. The cheapest and closest to the E1505 would be the S96j. You can customize one from powernotebooks.com or geared2play.com. The X1600 is about twice the power of the X1400. I think this notebook would be your best option. And with powernotebooks for under $1099(configurable) you also get a 3 year warranty and great service.
