    Just noticed that Dell is now using HLDS_GSA-S10N slot loading drives for the 1330.

    Just wanted to know if they are quiter/faster/better that the panisonic ones, so if you got one please post!

    I have the MATSHlTA drive, and it's extremely quiet compared to the noisy drive in other M1330s.

    That's the Panasonic. Isn't that what we all have? I like mine.

    I am using the MASH|TA one and I don't think its load. During booting no drive sound at all. I think my DVD-ROM boot option is disable.

    Where do you find this information regarding Dells hardware adjustments?

    It's not an adjustment, it's just another supplier for the 1330 parts. Just like the LED LCDs can come from either Toshiba or CMO or (at least once) LG-Philips

    I have the Panasonic - seems quiet to me. However, I think the the Toshiba would be more desireable if it is possible to get around the region code lock on it.
