I was just wondering if anyone got the full HD screen on their 1530.
Are people not getting it cuz then the text wud be too small on the screen?

I would like to know as well.. I just cannot imagine why someone would need that resolution on a laptop screen. -
not that i would need a resolution that high on a 15" screen hell the dell 24" lcd screens max at that resolutiin. However you can increase the DPI which would make the text bigger but still have that much extra real estate.

I've seen it before and it's not that bad after you get used to it. You can crank font sizes up in the OS and in the browser if that becomes an issue.

On my m15x, I'm gonna get the full 1920x1200. Partly for movies, but also, I have a friend who has that resolution on his dell notebook (also 15.4 inches) and he can see it fine. He let me check it out, and I can also read everything fine. I don't see the point in not upgrading.

I have The WUXGA (1920 x 1200) screen on a 15.4 inch ThinkPad, and I don't know if I could ever go to anything lower again. The text size has never proven to be a problem, and the amount of screen real estate is completely worth it -- for moving files between folders, writing documents (if you need you can zoom in of course), or for programming.

I just don't understand how people say it's unbearable on a 15.4" screen, but absolutely fine on a 17", which is only 1.6 inches wider.

i have a compaq x1000 with the wuxga screen and its fine, i've had it the day the compaq released this screen.
i think it all depends on your needs -
I have the 1920x1200 screen on my 17" Vostro 1700, and I had to choose the large fonts and mouse pointer in Windows. It's very detailed and I like the amount of space it gives me on the desktop, but I can't imagine it on a 15" screen.

It all comes down to personal preference and how good your eyesight is..
Also, you can't really compare laptop screens to desktop monitors, since people tend to sit closer to the laptop screen, which justifies the smaller text. -
Seriously, my only complaint about WUXGA screens is that they're power-hungry and not quite as bright as some of their lower-resolution counterparts. But the WUXGA resolution is pretty awesome. -
but it's not LED
LED version is just available in WXGA+ -
As I stated in another post, I've had a Latitude D800 (15,4") with this resolution for 5 years, and had no problem getting used to it. Now it's other resolutions that seem queer to me...
On the math side of things, the pixel size for the screen is 0,173 mm, and 0,191 mm for a 1680*1050@15,4". Roughly 10% difference in size and 20% in surface...

now another concern is, whether or not the new 1920x1200 screens are defective ie. grainy
