Considering one on Dell right now, curious as to others impressions of the scratch and dents?

That designation is actually kind of new, so I don't know how many buyers there have been, but it's my understanding most cosmetic issues are minor.

    machonmaigle,

The Scratch and Dent criteria that the Dell Outlet goes by basically says that the machine has to function just like something being built new and that the reality is just that. Most of the systems that come through the outlet are deemed Scratch and Dent because they have a minor scratch on the top or bottom plastics of the system.

The difference between a Refurbished System and a Scratch and Dent is purely a cosmetic difference. The functionality of the system is being tested in the very same manner.
