I almost bought a Macbook yesterday, but I just can't see it happening with the 1210 coming out. Esp. with the dedicated graphics. Just seeing if anyone else is as excited as I am!

P.S. - They better put a good screen on this thing! Thats what kept me from a 1405!

If Dell just uses the same screens they do across model lines, the XPS M1210 should be using the same screens as the 710m, which are Dell's best screens.

I used to be excited, until I found out that the M1210 won't be offered with a matte display. I find the TrueLife screens unusable because of the reflection.

One thing I've been trying to get people to realize is that while the 1210 does offer dedicated graphics, the Go 7400 option available on this side o' the pond (Japan) is a 256MB Turbocache model. What does that mean? It's a 64MB card that takes up to 192MB from main memory.

It may be different when it comes out in the US, but this is what it looks like for the time being.

The 7400 isn't too bad of the card. It will do around 2k in 3dmark05. You can play most any game on it. Most games you will need to run on medium settings. It's just too bad dell doesn't have a 14" XPS with a dedicated card out yet. If they could put something like the 7600GO or the X1600 that would be awesome!

Also, I am sure I read that TurboCache is 1/2 dedicated power and 1/2 integrated... so if it's 256MB, 128MB is graphics card and 128MB is integrated.
I know for nVidia it is, if not it's sure a bummer

From what I can see, it's 1/2 and 1/2. So the 256 SHOULD have 128 on board...

Yeah, I've never heard of a turbocache not being 1/2 dedicated and 1/2 from the system's memory. The Go 7400 is definitely a decent card. If you REALLY wanted to game, you'd want a bigger screen than a measly 12 inches, anyway.
