Hi everyone.
I just played with the Toshiba U305 and the Dell M1330 at BB today.
I really liked the Dell better than the Toshiba, but the Toshiba is on sale there for $699.
Also, do you know if BB is stocking the model with the LED screen?
I'm assuming not because I didn't notice it being much brighter than the Toshiba.

Actually i feel that ccfl screens are brighter than led screens...

wow, that's a very good price for the toshiba. i happened to see it at office depot this afternoon (helping my wife get a shredder) and i was impressed with the look of it. immediately logged on to this site when i got home to read a review on the u305 and it is quite positive. one downside, that you're probably aware of, is the small difference: 1.66GHz vs 1.8GHz. if you're not going to do anything processor intensive, it appears that the u305 isn't a bad option.

I have both and may be able to help.
First that price is incredible. I got the U300 for my wife a few weeks back at a price of $499Cdn during the bricks Wild Days Sale. There were only 5 available for all of Canada and I got lucky.
Next the footprnt is smaller on the U300 by about 1/2" width and 3/4" length although the U300 is slightly heavier.
I like the feel of the U300 better than the M1300. It feels like a much better build with no rough edges or things such as flash cards that stick out. Its a very attractive system. Having said this, I still wouldn't part with my M1330 for any other system available in a 13.3" footprint presently.
As for the LED/LCD comparison, the LED is brighter on the M1330 and a more pure white which you would never notice until you put the two side by side. I just did and asked my wife what she thought. She stated, looking at the M1330, the U300 LCD looks a tad yellow but nothing that would bother anyone. I have brought this forward in threads previous.
Customer Support... Dell by a mile. I find the customer support by Toshiba to be ancient in comparison. Each time I call in or get transferred, its again required to verify who I am and then.... well....they just don't treat you like the customer is #1.
The mouse pad is much stiffer in its buttons on the U300 and there is one more USB port although there is no HDMI port. I use HDMI on my 22" Dell external and love it.
The Toshiba does not come with any goodies as the Dell does. No neat bags, earphones, remote, detailed manuals and NO DISKS.
I had to trick customer service into sending me recovery disks for the U300 as their recovery disks that can be created off the U300 don't cut it with me. I wanted a OS disk for a clean install.
Hope this helps!!
Anyone else consider the Toshiba U305 before buying the m1330?
