    Anyone buy the vostro 1000?

    I want to buy my wife a laptop for basic use, i want the 1000, anyone buy it? anyone comments?

    The Vostro 1000 uses an AMD processor. This processor isn't as energy efficient as an equivalent Intel processor, however for someone who isn't looking to do very complicated tasks or isn't all that interested in an extended battery life it can be a great way to save money.

    If you're looking to acquire just a basic internet/word processing computer and battery life isn't a particular concern then the Vostro 1000 is a great computer

    The difference between Vostro 1000 and the 1500 is only about $100 but you get so much more with the 1500. I cannot see why someone will buy the 1000 unless the base starts going for around $400.
