I have alittle near the stop button on the mediadirect buttons. I only had this lappy for 2 months too. This notebook is great except they should have used just the bare material instead of chrome.

Yea, there was a pretty comprehensive thread on this a while back, with pics and everything.

Ive had mine for 2-3 months, and I can notice it, but only if I look for it. It has to be lit up, and I have to really focus on it.

I have an e1505 and there is some loss of paint on the mediadirect button as well as on the front volume/pause/play controls.

Well, not chrome but yes, I've had severe paint issues. The silver paint around the corner of the palm rest area has given way and so has the black along the plastic frame on the sides of the webcam. I escalated the problem and they have offered a replacement. I think the paint work could have been avoided and the regualr Inspiron finish would have worked better. Or simply an awesome Black would have done really well on such a neat system.
