Here's my scenario, like many other people probably...

I just bought and (2) days ago recieved my e1705 laptop. However, now that the 7900 GS came out I am a bit annoyed about Dell not saying anything a bit ahead of time or I would have waited... I actually want to make a few changes to other things anyway. So my question is simple....

If I call customer support and return my laptop, could I possibly get the same discounts for the laptop I just bought on a new and reconfigured e1705? I had quite a few stackable coupons and got a very good deal. Has anybody tried this after already recieving their laptop?

I'm a performance enthusiast if you can't tell and I read that the 7900 GS runs cooler to fix the overheating problems ;)

Thanks in advance for any help/info!!

I would imagine you can return it and get a refund or something and then purchase a new system and get that for whatever prices it comes out to be.

Yeah I know this. They have a 21-day return policy. I just don't want to sit around waiting for another good deal for a month. I'm wondering if anybody has had success returning a laptop because they wanted something changed, and then got the same/similar prices/discounts.

Call Dell and talk to a manager. Tell them you received your laptop, but would like those upgrades. If you get a good manager they will tell you to mail back the system and they will refund your account or give you a similar spec'ed PC for the same amount. :p

    Gotta get lucky ! :p
