I couldn't find any recent threads on this. Has anyone received one of these, or is aware of a review that looks at battery life with the discrete card?

I think they still didn't ship any yet. I might be wrong though.

I ordered around the time that they just released them, and mine is still in production.

Also, I read somewhere that the 'real time shipping' will be the 29th (tomorrow). Maybe that's true.. we'll see.

Based on how the D620 did with the NVS 110M, I would say that you'll lose 20-25%.

    -Bump-

I am probably going to be buying the D630 and am interested to hear if anyone has an answer to this question. I would be interested to know both the 9 cell and 6 cell battery runtimes with the Nvidia graphics.

    Thanks

I've had my D630 with the NVIDIA card and a nine cell battery for about three weeks now. Using wi-fi, running firefox, outlook, and Excel, I'd say I get about five solid hours out of it. I also turn up the brightness on my screen--I know if I turned that down and turned off the wi-fi the battery would last longer.

    Hope this helps--

I use the 6 cell battery (mainly so that it is flush with the laptop) and with the Nvidia 135M graphics, I get about 3.5-4 hours. Brightness is turned down slightly.

It is one nice laptop. Stays cool, long battery life.

Thanks a lot for the responses! Before I bought the D630 with the Nvidia 135m I wanted to make sure that it would not take too much of a hit in terms of battery life. Your battery runtimes seem very good with the Nvidia graphics so it looks like I have nothing to worry about. I think that I am going to be getting the extended life battery because I am likely to be carrying it with me a fair amount of the time so I would like the extended battery life. 5 hours with the extended battery and the Nvidia graphics seems great!

Get a 6 cell primary and 6 cell media bay battery (swap with dvd drive) and you'll get about 8 hours.
