This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Any way to use built-in webcam for Ventrilo/Teamspeak?

    I have a Vostro 1700 (Inspiron 1720 in black clothes) with Windows XP installed.

    I was wondering if it's possible to use the built-in webcam microphone for Ventrilo or Teamspeak? In the preferences I only get the choice between Sigmatel Audio mic (jack on the side of the laptop) or Bluetooth audio.

    I'm boggled by this :)

    nevermind.. i found out that sigmatel audio has 3 mics, and the webcam is connected to the third one (digital mic)..

    it was also tuned down to 0% in the volume control..

    but the good thing is that it does work :)

    sweet - this was the whole reason i wanted the webcam, built in omni-directional mic means one less this i have to hook up.
