I got a E1505, it has like a half inch of play in the lid/screen when its open, maybe from closing/opening it to much, is there a screw or any way to tighten it? thanks

does it kinda wobble on its own? or is the play when you intentionally pull it back and forth? if its the latter that's normal.

wobbles on its own, there is a half inch of play that has no friction at all, if I move the laptop forward/backward it wobbles

That isn't normal and usually means the hinge screws that secure the display have worked there way loose. Not a uncommon problem for DeLL laptops. If you feel like tackling the job yourself. I suggest downloading the manual for the E1505 and select display. It will show you step by step how to tighten the screws.

My advice would be to put a dab of Loctite on the screws before you tighten them. That should keep them from working their way loose. Once you tigthen the screws that wobble you spoke of will go away.

i couldn't tell you. i haven't had this problem or read much about it. your best bet is to do a search on this forum and google it seeing as you're not getting many replies right now and it's getting late and less people are on. you should have some answers by tomorrow afternoon if you don't find one sooner.
