    Any way to speed up delivery date?

    I'm currently getting a delivery date of 8/8 for my 1520, but I'm leaving for vacation on 8/2; is there anyway to gurantee that I could have my notebook before I leave?

    you might be safe, someone got theirs like 13 days before what dell said. You could call dell and explain your situation and they might bump you to overnight

    Well, my ship date was supposed to be 8/1 , but it shipped yesterday 7/12, so id guess that you'll get it before 8/2

    complain about the long production time in customer care and they'll upgrade to nextday for free,,,,, most of the time.

    i called in today saying i had to leave for college soon and a month is very long to wait for delivery. the lady tried to expedite building my laptop but the manager said they cant do that because parts were on backorder. she also said she'd give me free overnight -- and she did.

    Don't pay attention to that, they tell everyone they are going to expedite the order...all the sales reps do too, and technically their estimated ship date is 1+ weeks over what it really is, so technically they do "expedite" and try to make you feel special ;)
