Aside from the obvious (hard drive), is there anything useful to be salvaged from my E1705? It just died after 5 years and I'm getting a new computer. Thanks!

You could probably sell the video card and CPU for a couple bucks. I have that laptop too. Still works pretty good even as old as it is.

My video card is what's fried so that's out. Would I just sell the CPU on ebay or something?

If you really want, you can completely part everything out and sell it eBay. You might be able to get a fair some for everything, but it'll take awhile to sell.

Heck people will buy fried Nvidia cards to reflow them and resell..

Assuming it's in good condition, an E1705/9400 minus the GPU is worth about $100-$120. If you have a T7400 or T7600 those are worth a lot on their own.

I have one that I keep around to use as an emergency computer in case my current laptop breaks.
