Right now I'm using a Toshiba: centrino 2ghz, 512mb ram, 15in Laptop for college and I would like to get a vostro 1400 though I think I can either wait for sales/new components. So far my toshiba is proficient but pretty laggy at times. I don't think its too much of an issue but I think it would be much nicer w/ a 1400.

When do you guys assume Dell might have another sale or start selling them w/ different configurations?

    Thanks a lot guys

why don't u just upgrade ur ram?! 512mb is barely enough to run xp comfortably.

lol, yeah! its more likely than not your low amount of ram.

I'd say get like 1.5 GB more of ram or something like that, that is unless you are looking to buy a new laptop no matter what.

of course, a new toy is always a green light, if u got that cash! if u don't plan on gaming, then just stick with ur lap and buy more ram ;)
