I have a two year old E 1505 no real problems but in the last several months on something like three or four times the computer has just shut down. A total shutdown to a black screen all power is off. When the power button is pushed it restarts and on one or two occasions I needed to push F2 to get past that screen. I use fan gui and the temp does not seem to get to high, maybe 110 F. I also have it on a laptop cooler pad with a fan.

Any thoughts on the cause. It stlls has two years of Dell in home warranty and have a back up but am real interested in what would cause such a sudden shutdown.

Have you been in front of it when it shut down?
