Hi.
I intend to purchase a top-end M1330 and a widescreen secondary monitor in the new year, based upon a number of supporting factors such as the integration of W-USB, Penryn chips and crucially, SP1 for Vista.
I would like to guage the knowledgeable amongst you for information regarding next years line of premium Dell monitors. Are there any rumblings about next years releases that anyone can share? To my knowledge HDMI (whilst present on some newer notebooks) has never featured on a Dell panel as yet.
I would expect this of their next line, asell as the dropping of the soundbar extension in favour of fully integrated, discrete speakers on the unit itself. (To take avantage of the HDMI combined audio video feed.)
The contrast ratio on the 2407-HC is also flagging behind panels being released by competitors currently, which prompts me to assume that a revision might be on the cards for Q1'08.
Any thoughts?

i believe the next in line are their "webcam white monitors" they're only out in japan right now i believe.

I don't think those are of the 'prosumer' series. However, from what I recall their spec. is the exact same as the current professional series over here. Another identifier to a future upgrade in the premium line perhaps if a more mainstream model is shipping with like-for-like hardware capabilities in the East?

Wow. I just did a quick search for 'Dell 2408' information and this very thread has already been indexed barely an hour after its creation.
Sometimes Google's efficiency creeps me out! -
Update: I've just been wistfully configuring an M1330 with some of the new discounts and features that weren't previously available, (320GB HDD/ Integrated Audigy/ 4GB RAM for £199 instead of £4xx!) and noticed that my accompanying '2407' widescreen LCD has disappeared off of the face of the planet.
What on Earth could this possibly mean? Hmmmmn...
Any rumours of a '2408'?
