I am getting an M1330 soon and decide on 2GB of RAM.
Just wondering in what situations would more the 2GB be helpfull.
I do keep many applications running in the background.
Just to note I will be getting the discrete Nvidia graphics option which doesnt hog system resources.
Thanks

With Vista there's superfetch. So the more ram the better.

phote shop and big time multitasking, but for the most part 2gb if fine for everyone.

Playing Oblivion smoothly , i guess 2 GB is enough.
Normally Vista takes around 600MB of memory , hopefully SP1 ( Final Version ) Will boost the performance and uses less Memories -
As of now, 2GB RAM are more than enough, in the future you may need more. Therefore: get more RAM in the future, not now.
