New vs Refurbished is like Virgin vs Used. What do you like?

I order my D430 last week and I love it!

    Save me 1/3 the cost.

It smell new. So is it new?

But now its already old after I have use it 1 month.

So always get a refurbished Dell.

If you dont like it, you got 21 days to return it. It take 20 biz days before you see your credit back.

See if you can beat my price on the one I got last month. Its on the other post.

I just recieved (like 3 days ago) a Latitude D630 from Dell Outlet. A steal at $910 shipped! It was a "scratch and dent" but it arrived in perfect condition-no blemishes what so ever! It's pretty stable. BTW, Dell and UPS sucks when it comes to tracking numbers, I never got one-chose 3-5 day delivery, and was worried until I found out that this is quite common-Got my laptop 4 days after I ordered. Watch out though!-they'll try to screw you on shipping though-I was shocked to see the system price at something like $997 until I realized that they put it on next day shipping. :)

I've ordered 4 computers so far (3 laptops and 1 desktop) through Dell Outlet. All of them were Certified and came in just like new condition with a great price tag. I would definitely recommend it as an option when making a decision on purchasing a new computer.

If they have same deal as my M90, I would definitely buy from outlet again in heart beat. My M90 was a Scratch & Dent from outlet. I sure was worried after I ordered it, but it turns out to have a needle point size dot on the surface. Even with complete system upgrade, and warrenty I got (3 years). I think I saved over $1500+, and all the parts that I pulled went in to very quite and cool (almost fanless) Mythdora system that I've been dying to set up for long time.
I also got a cheapest XPS 410 Desktop for fraction of the price, and couldn't be happier after a graphic card swap.
If you get the right deal, outlet is the best place to get a unbelivable deals. Just be paitent when you look though outlet though because you might be able to get very similar system on Dell site.

Do outlet machines come with all the same 'extras' as new. Ex: the xps m1330 new comes with a notebook sleeve and creative headphones. Will I also get those when purchasing from the outlet?

    Technikal,

I got an M1330 from the Dell outlet about nine days ago. It came with a sleeve, but no headphones. It did come with all system restore CDs and manuals in new condition, however.

Like others here... I got an M1330 with LED screen, 4GB of RAM, and the 64GB SSD dirve for a little over $2K. When I priced the same system out as new on Dell.com it ran about $4K.

Sunday morning and dell outlet has over 300 1330's for sale. Is there something inherently wrong with these units that there would be so many returns?

My daughter is going off to college, she is petite with small hands. Would a 1330 be better than say a 1520? Thanks for the help.

    Brad

DeaconBoogie - thanks for the feedback. It's nice to know about the sleeve, though I kinda need new headphones, too :)

I ordered a 1330 through the outlet yesterday. Nothing high end - pretty much a base config - but the price couldn't be beat.

There's soon going to be another one on there courtesy of me... It's a great laptop when you get good one (like the one I'm typing on now).. and it's terrible if you get one which didn't quite get the perfect build... whine, paint quality, loose hinge, lid not closing etc....

Dell Outlet is fine. Even the Scratch and Dent I've seen look flawless.

Let me ask you all something.

When I got my refurbished D430 last month. the BIOS number was A00.

I had to flash it to BIOS number A02 myself.

Does this mean my laptop is old?

I think Dell just slap on a new keyboard and outer casing and that is why it look new and smell new.

Is this a pretty good indication of Dell refurbished product?

But I have no fear. Other than me dropping it or pouring water on the keyboard, I can call Dell and get something fix/replace if there is hardware failure. Latitude are standard 3 yr warranty.
