I've been looking around for a while now and can't seem to find a good set that actually install. Everything else is working wonderfully except for these audio (or lack thereof) drivers.

You mean not even built-in audio driver support for XP ? hmm.. strange.
Did you try Inspiron 1505 XP drivers ? Drivers for both models are listed as SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio. So, it might work. -
I can't get that to work, either.

AFAIK, Vostro 1500 is identical to Inspiron 1520 (except for color). And DELL officially supports XP on Vostro, even though they still dont have audio drivers listed in the download section, Im sure theyll put it out soon.

Anyone else have any luck?

Well i have one of the inspiron 1520's and i have tried several differen Sound drivers and still haven't found one that actually works
If anyone has any success i would really like to know.
Also device manager lists 4 unknown PCI devices, and the driver for the modem on HD audio device appears to be not installed correctly.
Does anyoen know what the 4 unknown PCI devices are??
starting to get desperate here so any help would be most appreciated -
D; I found drivers that worked a while ago. Here's my unpopular thread about it: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=141045

I was fortunately able to find the Win XP drivers at the most unlikely place; Gateway lol. Here is the link.

The driver I downloaded from DELL support site for 1520 XP worked.... Actually the setup wont work directly.... But what you should do is extract the file DELL provides to some folder.... Then go into Device Manager.... There you would find a device with a yellow icon in System Devices listed..... Double click it, select install driver and point to the location where you had extracted the files for the driver and into the WDM subfolder.... It would look for the driver and install it.... After doing that it would pop up another box for Modem Device on HD Audio Bus.... For that choose the driver location of your modem.....
If you are still facing problems I am ready to help you here.... Audio is working fine for me in XP and I play a hell lot of games in it too
Any luck with sigmatel hd audio drivers in xp? (1520)
