Any issues in regard to NEC DVD RW on the 1505 and burned dvds not readable?

Ok here is the story. E1505, with the DVD RW drive from NEC.

I used Nero 6 to burn a DVD. On my desktop I use a TDK DVD RW and Nero and ALL my DVD +R discs I burn read on ANY DVD drive I put it into.

Now then, on my laptop I tested it for the 1st time. I burn a DVD data disc +R

It burns fine no issues and reads in the laptop. However when I put the disc into my Desktop TDK DVD RW drive, it acts like the disc was empty.

So I was like HUH.... So I placed it in my OTHER DVD drive for my desktop which is a Samsung DVD-Rom, it read it fine.

So I am wondering if I messed up somewhere or if there is a certain thing about the NEC burning or what. If anyone has some insight to the issue.

I always use same brands of blank dvds and always +R (Not -R) formats. Since I stick with what works.

But yea.. just kinda wondering if I messed up somewhere, got a dud burn or if its something else. Thanks. =)

Btw. I did use a new firmware RPC1, made a thread about that on these forums too.

You probably need bit setting software to turn DVD+R disc into DVDROM during burning process. New LG DVD writers automatically turn +R into ROM.

Well I think that custom firmware I had allowed for bitsetting. But what settings would you use? Program wise or so? Unless your saying I burned in the wrong mode for Nero?

NEC burner is actually the best one you can get from Dell - I don't think it's at fault here.

Yea now if its a Nero setting.. what should I check on.. I mean it works on 2 out of 3 drives if I burned with my laptop.

3/3 if I use my desktop to burn. Both used same blank DVD and program.

So just wondering if I missed something. =/

I've had the same thing happen with different burners. Sometimes my buddies dvd+rw's burnt with a pioneer 111D drive won't read in my pioneer 107D, but they do in my lite-on dvd drive. Sometimes certain burners just don't work well together. Try a different media. Most drives will work better with dvd-r media. I use Ridata dvd-r's and they are flawless in any computer drive I have tried and also my xbox.
