This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     I am looking at a base-level Vostro 1000 or 1500 for a friend. Has anyone bought one of the sub-$600 Vostros? If so, can you comment on your satisfaction, on performance, build, etc.?
