Any chance of getting a 6400 with Vista Premium?

Is there any chance that the Dell Small Business division will ever have Vista Home Premium as an option? They seem to be stuck on Basic or Business and the price for Business is almost the same as buying Premium alone.

Alternatively, are there any other options? The 1505 is no where near the 6400 price.

    Thanks guys.

Well, the 6400 is the same machine as the e1505.

I am aware of that but the 6400 is currently priced about $180 less than the 1505 when I equip them the same. Is it possible that the 1505 will drop down to the 6400 price level at some point? Every time I have checked in the past the business version has always been cheaper. When the XP versions were Home or Pro, it was no big deal, but the difference between Basic and Premium Vista is significant and Business is missing a ton of multi media stuff.

    Thanks for the response.

Have you tried using the E1505 coupon located in the Dell Coupons sections of the site?

Sorry, I read your first message wrong. I got the prices mixed up.

Well, you could always look into purchasing an upgrade copy of Vista Home Premium, or just upgrade to Ultimate. I think both options are about $150 though...which kind of kills the deal on the 6400. Call Dell and see if they can dock the price.

None of the coupons pertain to my 1505 so I will have to wait until something changes. I guess I will give them a call tomorrow to see if I can sweet talk a sales person into a Premium upgrade. They are very eager to sell if you get on the phone.

Good news; Dell agreed with me that it made no sense and added Premium for $29.

As an avid computer user, i would STRONGLY suggest against vista for 6months to a year. Or consider yourself a beta tester.

Edit: I beta'd Vista right before the release, IMHO it was not ready for release for the time frame above.

    No offense microsoft fans.
