Got a call that my laptop shipped out last night, but the guy is saying it will arrive Monday. I have next business day delivery on it.
Looking online at DHL, it is/was in Nashville this morning. I live in Georgia. Any chance I get it today?

Desis,
Did you pay for next day shipping? If so and the laptop doesn't come until Mon (2 business days not the "next" business day) then I would complain. Then again, Dell probably has no control over when DHL will deliver their packages. They may just get to it when they get to it.
If you got the free next day that many of us got, then I am not sure I push the issue. -
The DHL website is not necessarily up to date. Call them and you can probably get a more exact update.

matt: oh yeah, i know what your saying, i didnt pay and so i totally wont be complaining. i was just curious as to what the standard protocol is. if the shipment arrives at a location, does it stay there for that day, or ship out that same day? it looks to have arrived at nashville sometime last night or this morning. does it stay there or leave today?

even next day DHL can take a week to get to you

If the delivery does take longer than the method that Dell has offered you, I would call them up and let them know. I wouldn't be a dick about because they are doing everything they can to get that laptop to you. But if they hear from enough people that their delivery is not done within the promised frame, they may look at other delivery companies.
As for me, I have never had any troubles with DHL. It is the one company that consistently delivers my packages earlier than expected. I am not sure where in Georgia you live, but you may get it today. -
mine is currently 20 miles away at a depot, and it got there at 9am...
im really really hoping they find some magic way to put it on a truck today. I don't want to have to wait an entire weekend for this thing to come -

Sometimes shipping companies may get the package at their depot a few days early, but will not deliver until the day that it is expected. Such was the case for my cell phones from letstalk.com. I was supposed to get them on Thurs., they came in late Mon. night. On the afternoon of Tues., I called up FedEx and asked them why it was not on their truck. They said because of my shipping option. I asked if I could pick it up from their depot. They said only if letstalk says its alright. They approved it.
I guess it helps that I told them that I was leaving on vacation the next day. -
If it's at the depot, you may be able to go pick it up. Just call and ask!

Around christmas my dad ordered a 42 inch tv. DHL got it to a depot near our house and it showed up on the tracking. We waited 3 days while it sat at the depot before we got fed up and called and went to pick it up. DHL will definately let you pick it up from the warehouse. When you get there though, expect to be there for 30 minutes or so, because they are slow. Call ahead to make sure they dont put it on a truck while you are driving over there. It can get frustrating knowing your package is just sitting in a warehouse when it could be in your own grubby hands. haha
Your choice
Any chance my order arrives today?
