I have the Dell Studio 1558 (details in sig). I installed the Intel 320, 120GB SSD. The drive shipped with the latest firmware and I did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro x64 and a combo of the latest Intel chipset drivers,ME , ATI drivers, along with some Dell drivers. In AHCI mode, laptop is SATA II as is the SSD.

I also installed the Intel Toolbox 3.0.2. That's where the problem is. In the Toolbox there are a number of tools. One is a Quick Diagnostic Scan and another is the Full Diagnostic Scan. The Full description:
"Tests the read and write functionality of an Intel SSD. Read Scan checks every Logical Block Address (LBA) for a hard error. Data Integrity uses the free capacity of the SSD to write random data and then verify the data. Other Toolbox features may be accessed while the scan is running, but no other features may be started.

Approximate run time is an hour or more depending on available free space".

Drive passes the Quick Scan no problem. During the Full it passes the read scan. The drive gets 63% through the Data Integrity check and stops. I get a big red X. I contacted Intel and arranged for a swap. Got the new drive and this time just installed Win 7, Intel chipset drivers and SSD Toolbox. Same thing. I pulled the drive and attached it to a newly built Intel based desktop and it passed with flying colors. I then ran the Secure Erase tool and re-installed in laptop and this time used a saved image. No change.

I have had no data corruption.
    Tried in Safe Mode
Ran System File Checker (sfc /scannow)
Had Intel rep go through checklist of drive values and no problems

Intel suspects a controller issue as do I because of the eSATA BSOD issue as well.

I attached the drive to my Intel based desktop as the boot drive. Just pulled it from the notebook and disconnected all desktop drive and it passed perfectly! Same drivers, OS, etc. Just fails on Data Integrity in notebook.

Oh and same eSATA dock & drive causes no BSOD on desktop either.
