Does anyone know if Dell will put any intergrated Cameras on their Inspiron or or consumers level notebooks? Hopefully Dell will soon get with the program. Just about all the other PC manufactors have intergrated camera. Dell only has one on the EXPENSIVE and small XPS 1210. Could make me pull the trigger on a new Dell. Looking at the HP and Lenovo with cameras. Cameras DELL Cameras!!

i think if the inspiron comes out redesigned, as most expect, it will have a webcam option. They would be shooting themselves in the feet if they dont. I wont buy one without it, after enjoying my m1210

This is a paradox my friend... The people that don't know, don't know that we don't know. ;)

This is really weird. Every other manufacturer had leaked their Santa Rosa plans weeks or even months before S.R. came out yet even now we still have no clue what Dell's up to.

Other than that I would definitely expect Dell to re-design their Inspiron line and add a webcam option. After all their current designs are almost 3 years old.

Dell has always been tight-lipped about their upcoming products. The Dell TabletPC was the exception to the rule, but everything else we knew very little until it was actually released.

Yeah, Dell does need a design change. Adding a camera to even there business laptop would be nice. A lot of us who travel on business would love to do video conferencing via a intergraed web cam.

If Dell were to copy everything HP has, how in the world would that help Dell become the leader in the computer market!? Webcam is a maybe, fingerprint scanner is unlikely, what's next, a polished finish? If Dell wants to come out on top, it has to have some new selling points of its own and not stare at HP and copy their marketing tactics.

I am guessing they hadn't decided which ODM to go with until not too long ago. And now they haven't decided which features are necessary.

If they want to be the leader in the computer market they should first offer all the goodies their rivals do and than put some cherry on top of that... What makes Macs so popular? They are fun and easy to use and have everything you need... (btw: I'm a PC fan myself)

And yes, we want built-in cameras in Latitudes as well!

Right because "Buy from us because we DON'T offer the same technology as our competitors" has worked so well in the past.

YoJr.. Since you work for Dell, Do they include the fingerprint scanner also? That would seal the deal for me. Would be one of the first to order one online. Have the T61 ordered. But, most of PCs are dells. Would keep both. Also, the Latitude does need a camera.
DELL NEEDS TO IMPROVE THEIR PRODUCT LINES.

There is not going to be a bioscanner on the inspiron lines. Dell seems to think this is only needed on the business line. And to answer a questions above, the camara is not going to swivel. I am actually surprised they don't have a camara on the Latitude due to the rising video conferencing done by businesses. I know they just updated the line so I would not expect that for awhile. The only feature they have brought over from the Latitude is the WiFi catcher switch wich I kinda like.

If you don't mind my asking, what does the wifi catcher switch do? That's disappointing they won't even offer the fingerprint scanner, while I don't need one, it would have been nice to have. Especially since my new laptop will be going to school with me, and from what i have seen the lattitudes don't come with a gaming class graphics card. Or if they do, it is way overpriced vs the inspiron model with similar specs.

Wifi catcher tells whether there is an internet connection available. See: http://www.dell.com/content/topics/...c=us&cs=555&l=en&s=biz&~lt=popup&~section=004
