Any Canadians order a Dell recently?

I'm curious what your shipping times were. A lot of Americans have said how fast they ship, but I don't know how long it would take for Canadians.

Right now my laptop is in production and then has to go Delivery Prep > Ship

The estimated ship date is august 25th right now. That's kind of long, because before I purchased they said 15 days maximum is when I would get my laptop. I ordered it on the 7th.

 

Well, this is the busiest time of the year for Dell, so expect several weeks for the laptop. Better to have a late ESD that's on time than an early one that keeps getting delayed.

 

i was wondering the same i ordered mine 7th to buddy and im from canada and they said my ESD would be Estimated Delivery Date is:9/8/08 which is over a month

 

Yah, dell seems really busy right now. I ordered in Canada on the 17th of July, and just got a call today saying its gonna be delivered tomorrow from purolator. So my original ESD was Aug 4th, and i thought that was worst case scenario, but it ended up shipping on Aug 8th. So if your gonna order it, order it soon, otherwise unlikely you will get it before school starts. I would estimate minimum 3 - 3.5 weeks before it ships......but who knows, maybe dell will suddenly speed up for the back to school rush

Seriously? ****it Dell.

I need it for college by the latest September 1st, and they said 15 days would be the maximum it would take to get here.

I should have just bought one from Best Buy, but it's probably too late to cancel my order.

My advice would be to wait it out, and then if it doesn't come by the 25th then u can always cancel it (dell didn't actually charge my credit card until it shipped) and then get it from best buy or whatever which wouldn't take long to get in your hands.


By the way, what was your configuration anyways (Rathma and congoc)??

 

I'm pretty much in the same situation as kurtus55, ordered my studio 15 on July 17th, ESD was Aug 4, but it didn't end up shipping until Aug 8. According to an email reply from Dell customer service, shipping typically takes 5-7 work days, and as of today, Purolator's estimated delivery date is Aug 18. Guess you can only cross your fingers and wait for now =\

They had a similar one at best buy but only had it in white, which looked bad and would get dirty way too fast.

 

From my experience

Ordered - June 24 (+ 10 day delay due to 9cell battery)
Shipped date - July 11 (Somewhere in US)
Arrival date - July 15

ALso, my package crossed into the Canadian border between the 13/14

If you guys are really crammed for time, you can cancel your order (with no penalty) as long as it hasnt shipped yet

 

Nice build, but yah with that config, I would check best buy again and see if they have your colour, although you would likely have to compromise with screen resolution, since im not sure if best buy has anythin better than 1280x800, but I could be wrong.

But I haven't heard great things about BestBuy's tech support tho...

 

The thing is, Best Buy had a good deal listing specifically the white model (which is now OOS). It sounds like they were just trying to get rid of that color because nobody wants it. If I bought another color from there it would be $150 more on the site.

So the deal I got on this ordered dell was nice, I saved $190 from the regular price.

 

Ordered it on August 6th and Estimated ship date is the 18th. I live near Toronto if it makes a difference xd
