    I ordered a jet black on 8/23 and my ESD is on 9/19 (Blah).

    I think thats the important stuff. I wonder why your ESD is sooner. Oh well, I hope to get mine soon.

    Well it has only been 12 days and I am going nuts. Especially after walking into best buy yesterday knowing I could walk with a sony with close to the same specs...

    I hope I get surprised with an early ship date. By the way, why are there so few 1420 orders on here?

    Yeah I know how you feel. The eyes start to wonder. In fact, I'm not certain about the 1420 myself. I'm actually sitting with a Vostro 1500 right now. Decided I didn't like it, so ordered the 1420. But there's this itch at the back of my mind urging me to make a switch to Mac -- i.e. MBP. So I may just end up returning both Dells and buying an MBP! What to do, what to do...

    Well if you get yours before me you can just send me yours. They look fairly close. LOL.

    I am wondering if I should have went with the 1330. I was trying to keep everything under $1500 though and I didn't know about the "deals" that everyone on the forum seem to be getting.

    I ordered mine on the 13th and it was shipped on Sept. 3... my EDD is 9/4/07
    but its not here yet... my original EDD was 09/24/07... so i guess i shouldnt complain right?.... but im soo excited for it to come!!!! lol

    anyone know how long it takes to ship if its still in the US?
