How did you know that its a dell shipment? (I am not disagreeing, I am just curious)

As of this time I am still in Production - "Boxing"

 

Oh man o' man! I hope mine is on there. My first order took place on July 7th, a pink 1420, that was twice delayed. I then canceled and made the move to a black 1520 in order to receive it quicker - THEN Dell began offering 3gb RAM - So I again canceled in order to get the extra RAM (I'd rather pay them to add the memory then buy and install myself or have a friend do it) and figured while I was at it that I may as well also change to a color that I could *really* love - So switched to Red. The last order took place on 14 August with an ESD of 20 September, went into Build immediately, and to Boxing in the early morning hours of the 3rd. *fingers crossed* For all of us Boxing people!

Well my status hasn't changed yet, so maybe my system wasn't on the flight...

Mine apparently wasn't on that flight...still in boxing! AHHHHHH! It's like having something you want just out of arms reach! I know I've faired better than a lot of people have on here wait wise, but enough of boxing already! Does anyone know when the next shipment is due in Nashville? (I can't make heads or tails of that China Airlines timetable!)

 

actually it could have been, as they fly the laptops to the US by the pallette then yours is fully boxed once in the states.

Customer Service online chat....to find out if it was true I talked to 3 different reps online...and they said all the same thing

 

Oh, ok. I was just chatting with them a little bit ago to ask if there was any shipping information yet. He didn't have any, but he PROACTIVELY offered me a free upgrade to next business day shipping! And all I did was inquire about the shipping status...

 

Same....but we all know it's ground.....because people said the same thing but it ends up being ground.... maybe ground "express".....unless someone says otherwise...

 

Yeah, I've been seeing that as well. Oh well, at this point I don't care. Just get the damn thing on a truck! lol

Man. I think I got lucky even though I opted for a colored lid. I ordered on 8/20 and my original ship date was 9/27. But it went into boxing on 9/3 and shipped on 9/4. According to DHL, my laptop is at their facility about 5 miles from my house, so I'm expecting it tomorrow .

Hoping so too....have a 1420 and a D830 both in boxing.

The 1420 had a delay notice sent this afternoon, but the order status pages still have the original ESD (9/5). The D830 ESD is 9/13 though its been in boxing since Monday.

 

Thats the way i understand it. The flight that was just posted landed 50 min. ago. I am still in boxing as of 6:16 AM. Hoping to hear the lovely automated lady say "Shipping" real sooon....

My order status changed to 'shipped' about 12 hours after the flight landed in Nashville... but maybe they were just having a slow day yesterday!

I think there is one leaving China even as we speak and arriving in Anchorage tonight, then on to Nashville arriving about when the one this morning did:

The status is still listing it's last flight, but if you scroll down you'll see it's scheduled to leave again today. Status will probably update when it gets into Alaska around 10/10:30 tonight. Oh and that's the flight status, not your order status. If it's on the flight, you shouldn't expect to go to shipping until 10-12 hours after landing in Nashville.

I was reading this thread, and I thought, well shoot, guess I'll call the automated # for kicks....and now I'm in boxing.

Maybe I will get mine on time after all! Wouldn't that be sweet.

 

I called this morning and I was still in boxing. About 3pm CDT it said Shipped, but no tracking info. The lady sounds so much happier when she talks about it being shipped!! I had overnight delivery, and it showed that on the dell site, until it went to shipped. Now it says deliver between 9/11-9/13. What gives? It's being shipped to Dallas, am I going to get it tomorrow like I'm supposed to?

 

I'm in the same boat but I don't know about the exact arrival.....but with DHL a big doubt...

 

Me too, but I won't hold my breath for tomorrow. Even with ground shipping it should still get to me Monday. I wish I had my tracking number already... Nothing on the Dell site yet and I'm afraid to call the status number in case my status goes back to BUILD! That and I've gotten to know that automated voice a little too well over the past 3 weeks...

 

More than 24 hours now since my order status changed to 'shipped', but still no tracking number and no idea what's happening with this shipment! ugh.

 

I just chatted with Dell (best chat ever) and he gave me the tracking number. Course, with my dell experience, its probably the wrong number. Anyway, I put it on dhl.com, and it said it didn't recognize it, but it also said that today's orders wouldn't be in the system until tomorrow. He said I should get it in 24 hours. My invoice says DHL express next-day shipping. What does your's say?

 

Did you call them or have an online chat? My order's plain ol' ground shipping...

I received my shipped email not 15 minutes ago. I would be deliriously happy but I have a cold so I am only marginally happy.

Probably won't get it until Monday anyway.

So it's been almost two days since my order status changed to 'shipped' and I haven't yet received a tracking number. Strange, no? So I gave Dell a call and it turns out that DHL doesn't have my shipping address! Joy of joys. So my system has been sitting with them for two days, and nobody's bothered to contact me to get the shipping address. Ridiculous. Now they claim it'll be shipped within the next 24/48 hours. pffft. Whatever.

 

I got an email at 6:40 AM this morning (the 7th) saying that my order was shipped on 9/6. I don't have a tracking number yet though so I can't find where it is. I have NBD shipping... think it will come in Monday, or earlier.... or later?

Should I call and see if I can get a tracking number?

Hell-to-the-NO! Received nothing whatsoever. I suggest you call Dell just in case. Between themselves and DHL, they sure do make a fine team.

 

Uhhh... Wow. Wish I could say that comes as a surprise, but no such luck there. You order, you give a shipping address, your 'puter ships, and Dell forgets to send along your address? How crazy is that?!? I dunno... maybe DHL lost it. Whatever either way. I wonder how long DHL was going to let your computer sit in TN before calling you?!?

Either way... I'm with ya on the ground shipping thing. Mine just left TN at 4:55 this a.m. So I suppose the soonest it'll be in my cute lil hands is Monday or Tuesday. The DHL tracking really stinks - they don't give an ESD like UPS and Fedex do. Ah well... After all of this we should just be happy to see our Dell's in the end.

Now let's hope we don't get lemons!

 

Oh, Dorkette. My thoughts exactly! I wouldn't be surprised if they're sitting on a stockpile of undelivered Dell orders dating back to 90's.

So now I need to find some way to satisfactorily distract myself for a couple of days. Hmmm... where did I put that bottle of Jack...?

 

despite all the chats with CS about changing my shipping address before they shipped it to DHL....they still got my home address as a shipping address even though in the email said the modified address. DHL has my home address which I will not be home....I'm irrirated.....but I'm on the line with Dell to hold the package at the Jacksonville Service Center.....I hope the rep is not dumb enough to tell them to hold it at Tennessee....but anyways I called DHL at midnight to check the address and was so mad that they got the old address I told them to hold it but they needed Dell's permission so here I am calling Dell...
