    Yeah.. Dell has sooo many problems... BUT... a reason for buying one is THIS FORUM. Imagine we didn't have this forum and we were getting all those problems with screens, highpitch noise, wifi, memory, etc.....!

    The other laptop forums don't seem to be as busy as the Dell one.... so though some of us are having problems... at least we get a lot of help from here.... i know i have.

    My Dell has the noisy hard drive and the headphone squeal, but I hardly consider those serious.

    Dell does have problems, but it's one company I know who will actually fix the problem, or replace the system if they can't fix it.

    I admit this forum is great. But, what you're saying is that you'll by a Dell because a lot of people complain about it? :confused:

    We complaint because we know(learn alot from forums) more than average consumers, and have/want higher expectations/quality products from Dell.

    Look at the facts. The other forums arent quite as reflective in issues because no other manufacturer just did a facelift of pretty much every model in the last six months. (ie Inspiron/Vostro/M1330/M1730 now m1530)

    Its a given that there seem to be alot of problems. There is actually very little problems and all satisfaction surveys put Dell over 90%. The main concentration here are those who need assistance and many who need to vent.

    Dell owners complain that its a Dell whine but don't check to see that EVERY other manufacturer has the same problems at one point or another.

    As far as customer satisfaction with service and just making sure the customer is happy in the end, I dont believe any other company comes even remotely close. I know of no other company that will continue to send you new replacements with a 100 percent money back guarantee as Dell has. Please advise if I am wrong.

    I think an average costumer would realize if their laptop is being delayed for two months.
    I think an average costumer can see graininess quite well.

    :(

    I think Jarrod falls into the unhappy percentile of Dell who didn't like the end result.

    I don't mean I'd buy a Dell b/c a lot of people complain about it... I meant (and i though it was implied) that because we have a forum like this where its very active and supportive.... I'd be more inclined to purchase a Dell since at the chance of getting a bad system... I have a forum full of people to ask for help. It's like an added safety net.

    Its a huge safety net. Look at all available to the dell purchaser:

    1. Prepurchase selection advise;
    2. System price Assistance to conform to your pocketbook;
    3. A How-To on Making a Great Purchase Where You Save;
    4. Assistance on Tracking your Purchase;
    5. Assistance on Getting Money or Upgrades if there are problems;
    6. Super Tweaking Thread available nowhere else on the net when you get it;
    7. Exact instruction on Clean Installation if you want that;
    8. Assistance for any concern you have and support;
    9. Knowledgable people to guide you to the proper channel of support;
    10. Explanation of little known programs such as the 30Day new System exchange and Total Satisfaction.

    Do I see that for any other brand here? Hmmm.

    I agree, Dell and this forum ROCK! I am a happy user of my D630. Perfect no, if there were any real problems, Dell would fix, and I would have plenty of help from this Forum. Thanks for being here, Dave

    2 additional reasons to buy Dell: easy-to-find online service manuals & abundant refurb/off-lease laptops to choose from.

    Unless something big changes, I'll stick with the reduced-price Dell business models. Of course, these aren't for everyone.
