I know it's been discussed before and I have searched but I still have some questions. Dell has two 1 gig sticks for $115, but I can do much better at New Egg. Is Dell memory any better than the others and if I buy from New Egg will it affect the warranty on my Dell? What about speed and CL?

Here are some of the other brands I can get from New Egg. Can someone help me pick and choose?

    Crucial One with lifetime warranty

    G. Skill Two with lifetime warranty

    Corsair

    Geil

All things considered I'd like one with a lifetime warranty, but if one has a distinct advantage over another I'll consider it

Get a DDR2 667 (PC2 5300). Brand won't really matter, so get the cheapest of them.

That would be this G. Skill. with a lifetime warranty. Not bad for $60 with shipping. Without the warranty I'd only be saving $5.

Shoot I've been reading them wrong. All may have warranties. I've been looking at service warranties.

LOL... Now I think I've figured it out. For the ones with DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) it' either the G. Skill or Corsair for $60 or $62 with shipping included. Since they're basically the same price, is one company better than another?

And will installing these affect my Dell warranty?
I'll go ahead an order once this important question is answered.

Nah, they're the same. I think. I went with the cheapest I could find at my prefered online retailer, which was Corsair.

And it won't affect your warranty. You're well within your rights to upgrade RAM.
