I have stated before I know nothing about laptop computers so I have another dumb question. I hope someone will be kind enough to answer it for me. I was checking the Dell Outlet store and checking the Inspirion 1521 laptops. I noticed that instead of having 801 or 802 on the wireless card it had Dell 1505 wireless-n. does this mean if I purchased a computer with a wireless-n I would need an adapter plus a router to connect wireless to the internet. TIA

The Dell 1505 card will work with all wireless networks being broadcasted by a router or access point. There are four protocols of wireless connection, 802.11a,b,g and n and the 1505 works with all of them.

All you will need is a Wireless Router, an N Wireless. Thats all you really need. Just connect through your laptops internal network "mini-card" to your wireless network and there you have 270 Mlbs, or 300Mlbs. with the Extreme N. -------Hope I could help.

Just to point out, you don't need to have a "Wireless N" router for it to work, but you will get better speeds with one instead of, say, a "Wireless G" router.
-
Yes i agree, but with an N you will get top speeds
