I know there are Snap-On covers available for the 6000 series and 9300 series notebook. I was looking on Dell's website and didn't see any for the XPS M140/630m...are they available/will they be available?

    Thanks for all your help.

I can't see any for the 630m on the Dell webbie either. I only see covers for the 600m. You might try ebay.

I don't think the 630m has any because it is too small of a screen or at least I haven't seen any.

    I don't think Dell offers any covers for the 630m/XPS 140 line-up.

I have i630m and Dell didn't offer the snap-on cover and there's no option to ask for it. i630m is leaving me this week though :D
I'm returning it because it's too blurred. I ran the extensive diagnostic utility and it found 2 errors. I'm not satisfied so I told them I'm returning it. Waiting for the document from them then I'll get i9400. Hope the screen display will be good.

A user on NotebookForums.com posted a review of the i9400 and said the screen is the best they have used so far. He stated Dell is not using an antiglare display with a glossy coat over it like the i9300/ i9200 and i630/M140. Hope you like the i9400. :)

Cool. I like i630m too - the design, the size and the features i.e. Mediadirect, 4 USB ports, card reader. Only issue is that screen and 2 error codes that requires a fix :(
If the i630m notebook isn't covered by satisfaction policy, I have no choice but to keep it and let them repair. Good thing I ran the diagnostic test.
Thanks! I also hope (and I wish) Dell's factory guys will test it thoroughly and make sure there's no device error code before they'll ship. I don't mind waiting in receiving the notebook. I have other notebook and PC to use so there's really no need for them to rush in sending it.

I just got my xps m140 in the mail this week. I'd like to run the dianostic test on it as well. Can someone talk me through it? Thanks!

    1. Turn on the notebook
    2. When the Dell logo appears, press F12 key immediately.
    3. Select Diagnostic Utility in the list then press enter.
    4. It will run some initial test then the option to run express, extended, custom and symptom tests. Choose the one you like but I suggest to run the Extended test to make sure all devices is OK.
If error code is found, write it down. Call Dell tech support.
Up to you whether you want them to fix or replace or return. Replace/Return/Refund is available only to new purchased (within 21 days of satisfaction policy).

Another method to run the test:
Simply press and hold Fn key while powering the system on.

If there's no diagnostic utility partition, you may run the test from the Dell Drivers and Utilities CD.
