I just reinstalled windows xp pro in this laptop. I downloaded all the drivers from dell because the cd dell sent me is completely useless. All of the drivers are working fine except the video driver. Whenever I boot my computer, this "(cli.exe - Application error) The application failed to initialized properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application." always shows up. It also pops out whenever I open ATI Catalyst(R) Control Center. I've searched for solutions on the net but I can't still find the right one. What should I do to fix this problem?

This error is because you do not have the .Net Framework 1.1 installed. The ATI programs need this to run.

It is in Windows Update if you select Custom, then Optional updates.

or you could use the omega drivers, I've always liked ati cards, but for my most recent desktop I went with a nvidia 7900 gt, I did it for a number of reasons, one of them being no catalyst control center, its pretty, but its also a resource hog, takes forever to load, and is crash prone, I just ordered a 1505 with an ati x1300, and I'm probably not even going to fool around with the ati drivers perriod

why are some people always complain (like berryjuice) that Dell sends useless parts like the CD when the problem is not with the CD. some people really never learn. good thing we have people here who likes to help others.
