Instead of playing the email game or waiting for a few hours on the phone to connect with someone, go to the dell chat.
You can find it by going to Technical Services, then under "Additional Resources" You will see "Contact us." Click that. Click "More Details" under Technical support. Then click "Chat online with Technical support." Type in your service tag and then you are set to go.
Tell the dell technician you need the OS cd, any driver cds, roxio cds, and any other needed cds that didn't come with your notebook. He/She will ask for some of your information. It doesn't take but about 15 to 20 minutes for the entire process. This is a whole lot better,IMO, than playing email tag for 3 days or spending all day on the telephone.
Ive had 2 very pleasant experiences through dell chat. One was desktop problems and the other was ordering my OS and driver cds. So good luck!

I recieved my e1705 just before thanksgiving, and I got all my cds without even requesting for them. Is this unusual?

I think they are starting to give the cd's out agian. They might have lots of them and are starting to give them out since Vista will be coming soon -
Thanks for the tip, Neolith.
It took about 15 min wait and 10 min chat to request the MediaDirect CD. A lot less than on the phone, plus no ambiguity spelling out email addresses and mailing address. -
Your welcome! I know how it is to call Dell and stay on the phone with them for hours upon hours, it isnt very pretty.
Thats good that they are possibly sending out the cds again, because people need those cds, especially the OS cd. -
No chat @ dutch Dell website.
