New subway sandwich with the works: $6.99

7 gallons to fill up my tank so I can go to the park: $20.59

An afternoon in the park with my new Dell laptop that Dell didn't screw up for once: priceless.

Amidst the floods and floods of complaints, it's nice to see someone who's satisfied with their product!

I'll add that I'm more then happy with my new 1520. The only issue I have is dell putting up a new coupon that would have got me an extra 100$ off just 2 days after I received the thing! anyways, I hope to have this sorted out today.

When we were choosing a new machine for my husband, I mentioned the problem of the CPU whine and how hard it is to put up with. He looked at me, shook his head and said "Well, I put up with your whine, don't I?" :D

In other words, it could be worse. :)

I had the cpu whine and I was able to fix it using the bluethooth radio work around in vista.

But then, there goes half an hour of your battery life.
Half an hour in the park, that is. :)

The first one is always the hardest. After a while I no longer give a crap, but the first little ding on any new toy depresses me for days.

Yea, the cpu whine is a little (ok, very) obnoxious, but seeing as its the only fault, and not exclusive to Dell, I've tried my best to overlook it. =)

I'm actually starting to get used to it (still annoyed though), but I force myself not to. After all, such an annoyance is just not acceptable when you pay $2100 for something. Really hoping my replacement will be fine...

Funny thing is, only time I have a problem with the cpu whine, is when I'm using the battery, AC adapter disconnected. Otherwise, nothing. :)
And oh do I hear it. It's almost painful, have to turn my head to a certain angle so I don't hear it. :(
