Just peel off the stickers EXCEPT the service tag and license for Windows. The stickers on the palm rest are fine.

Yeah.. The service tag sticker is what they check.. It is okay if it's not present, since teh tag is also present in the BIOS.. but just to be safe, leave that sticker alone..

Stickers isnt part of the warranty.

Though they will deny it if you want your sticker repaired or replaced.

I took the Windows Vista sticker and left only the Core2Duo on my 1530.
as it is like silver/blue/brushed, it looks way better than the white vista one.

    cheers.

Hi, I hate to sound newbieish but how do you get the stickers off? I have tried but could not pull them off; they would come off partially and if I had kept going I would have left pieces of the sticker on the palmrest. Is there some solvent or something that you use? Much thanks :D

I took off the vista sticker when I bought my 1520 because I installed XP. The Centrino sticker just came off. Now I have a spot that looks different than the rest of the palmwrest.

i want to take the centrino sticker off but leave the vista one. luckily the vista sticker is right in the corner and not towards the middle. just got to figure out the best way of getting them off without leaving a mark. i honestly thought they were part of the chassis! robust stickers.

Yeah, rubbing alcohol and q-tips will remove the stickers and residue without damaging the case.

You do have a C2D. Centrino just means that you have an Intel processor, chipset and network card.

This is a great question. The M1730 has a great looking backside! LOL! They even put a big chrome "XPS" in the middle of the bottom of the computer. They hid all of the stickers under the battery, except for one...the Vista COA sticker. Since I have an MSDN Universal account and have installed my own OS anyway, that sticker was removed the day I got the PC.

the stickers won't effect any warranty issues, so there shouldn't be any worries.

the dealership wouldn't refuse yur service if u removed yur emblems. it doesn't physically effect any hardware malfunction, so it can't be used against u.

now...air bags and blow dryers are a different story kids!
