To anyone with the xps m1710 with the SigmaTel HD Audio out there - does this freakin thing have a mixer that I just can't find? The Bass/Treble controls that windows gives you are locked and I can't find an eq... hopefully I'm just missing something

YES!!! Just kiding. Did you try double clicking on the speaker icon in the system tray (next to the clock)? Or is that where it is locked? Also check for an icon in the control panel.

Unfortunately that's precisely where it is locked, under advanced options in the windows volume control :(

Thanks tho man, I can EQ through whatever media player I'm using and its nice, and at the least I do have a subwoofer volume control, but the subwoofer control also seems to control my rear 2 speakers haha, w/e I just left it cranked anyway and I EQ through w/e media player I use - would be nice to EQ for everything tho and not have to worry about individual programs.

I did not find it on mine either. Maybe you need that $30 option SB software to get full functionality?

Yeah I didn't have the option at the time, I got it through Bal, so I didn't set it all up :( Not to say I'm unhappy btw, freakin excellent price for this amazing unit, thanks bal. But yeah maybe its possible to get it upgraded or something? I bet I can find it somewhere, or ask dell if they can send me a cd for $25 bucks or whatever lol
