try calling dell and see if you can get the video card upgraded. You might be able to do it.

Another option is to try and configure another E1505 (which is 6400) and use the home coupon. You might be able to get better specs for a low price.

How important is $$$ to you? If you get the core duo 2, it will (likely)cost you more.

If you accidentally ordered the wrong model, i suggest you set it straight. You would not want to forever regret it.

If you wait, the prices will probably raise for core duo 2. Like rkj stated, you need to get the system that you want so you won't regret it for the rest of your life.

Depending on what you do with your notebook, it should last at least 3-4 years. The X1300 will run AeroGlass on Vista fairly easily, and should be able to handle most modern games - just don't expect stellar graphics quality.

This configuration isnt all that bad besides the gpu. It should last you around 3~ years without being too out of date. As for the x1300, its pretty old but its not that bad. It can handle quite a few games but probably you'll be running most recent games on low to average settings.

The X1300 is not old - it just came out at the beginning of this year.

the problem is that you bought a big-ticket item without doing any research. it would be better for you to take your time, research your options in terms of what is available notebook-wise, and then after careful deliberation, where you're objectively reviewed your computing habits, you purchase a notebook that best fits your needs within your budget.

if you're unsure, i would at least attempt to get a refund and then take your time looking for what you need instead of buying on a whim.

if you will be forced to take a restocking fee, then at that point you'll have to weigh your options and see what it important to you.

    good luck
