I left my power supply cable for my Vostro 1500 at school and wont be able to return for a few days. However, there is an HP power supply here that seems to have nearly the same stats and fits the socket.

I'm assuming my power supply is a Dell 90W-AC ADAPTER, it says it is compatible with the 1500 in any case. It has 19.5V DC, 90 Watts, max 4.62A output. The HP adapter is 19V, 90 Watts, max 4.74A output. Is this Hp adapter safe to use with my 1500?

It's safe to use. The variance is small enough where it shouldn't damage your computer.
