    Howdy, I'm basically looking for a better program to record videos from my Dell Webcam. The purpose is most likely youtube. so whatever program will encode the videos to work on youtube. I don't know much about youtube, webcams or video/audio encoding so whatever works. the built in webcam manager doesn't seem to want to work for youtube.

    Virtualdub is a free video capturing tool, it should work fine with your webcam.
