I have been scouring the net to find all that is attainable in regards to drivers that work for my 1500 for xp. The problem is that some drivers work and some don't even after successfully using nlite. I am hoping by the 15th or 20th post we will have a file that would be zipped and ready to download to merge with our own version that anyone can use for any vostro...pretty much one mega file extracted inside of one zip for all to use with nlite. I think if we all try and use our free time we could all do this and everyone could be happy because i have heard both sad and happy stories to both drivers that should work and some that just happen to work and obviously some that don't. One definitive mega list extracted into a zip (or separated into models) would be ideal for anyone right now.

is that supposed to be funny or retarded???

either way I am just stating something that we can all do to help each other instead of just mentioning directions in a 100 plus post of things that work and dont work...anyone here agree...if not dont even bother posting...if so then lets start on creating a file together and ignore rejects and wannabes

You can find all the XP drivers from support.dell.com, am I wrong?. I haven’t followed all the XP installation threads on the new Vostro/inspiron lines, but the only thing you have to do different is load SATA drivers at the install time (or slipstream them).

A step by step guide : TOTAL GUIDE: 1420 With XP!!, that guy is having some trouble with the audio driver (which can also be easily fixed) but that’s about it. Since Vostro 1500 and 1400 (1420) has almost identical components I don’t see why it shouldn’t work.
