Over the weekend I put Vista Ultimate 64 bit and I have all
the drivers installed and everything has been working pretty well.

Just a few minutes ago..I heard what I believe was from my laptop
the 2 tone loud alarm that I have heard on other systems to indicate
    a temperature problem.

Moving the laptop a few inches seemed to have stopped the
alarm but I am now worried about what is going on.

I can't imagine just having 64 bit Vista is making the system run
    hotter.

The laptop is sitting in the same place on my desk it usually sits..
not sure why moving it two inches made the alarm to stop..there
was nothing that I can see blocking any ports on the sides or
    anything.

Anyone know what the operating temperatures should be??

I downloaded CPUID and from the fans and processors run
    between 104 (f) and 118 (f) -- GPU is between 122 (f) and 128 (f)
and the hard drive is about 100 (f).

Anyone know if these are ranges I should be concerned?

The laptop feels a little on the warm side as far as the palmrest
    goes..

    Any help appreciated.

For now I will turn off the laptop and let it cool down...

Even at the highest, 128 F is only 53 C. That doesn't seem hot enough for concern, your hardware should be rated for that

    Thanx for the information.

I am 99.5% sure the loud alarm came from the laptop...

I can't imagine anything else on my system making an alarm like that.

I will keep my eye on it and see if the problem happens again...

    Thanx again..
