Just saw this don't know if you guys already knew this.
Also, I know there is a thread here from a member who enabled stereo mix using some techniques.. thought this will benefit everyone who wants to have stereo mix and in case they didn't know Cheers.

Posted that link yesterday in the Stereo Mix thread...looks like the function has only been enabled for new notebooks including the Studio15/17 so far... -
Actually, Dell is lying in this article. The current hardware is fully capable of supporting stereo mix.
The hack you are referring to is to simply install the XP version of the drivers. To install them, you have to run the extracted setup.exe file in compatibility mode for XP and they will install. The only problem I've had with them is occassionally the audio will stutter after coming out of sleep mode but doesn't always happen.

I commented. I like how the article states Stereo Mix is possible at a hardware and software level then goes into great detail explaining why it isn't available at the hardware level and them completely avoids the subject of why it isn't supported at a software level.
Ah, so Dell DID put in Stereo Mix Functionality in the end.
