    I can't get AOE 3 to play online games in Vista. I can log in and but I get "Failed to Join Game" on pretty much 90% of the games.

    This has only happened with my Dell laptops,
    This happens on both 32/64 bit versions of Vista.

    Now, it will work on the SAME Dell computer when it is running XP.

    With that in consideration;

    I have ruled out my router
    I have ruled out my laptop hardware
    I have ruled out Vista in general because it works on a Toshiba
    I have ruled out security software - Mcafee on XP and Vista - turned off.

    So I ask, what is UNIQUE to DELL laptops that is running VISTA?

    I think AOE 3 is not for Vista, but for XP only, however the expansions contain patches that enable it to be Vista compatible.

    If it's a problem with some of the crapware included with the factory preload, just install Vista fresh.
