My dad managed to talk the dell rep down from $2200 (with their new pricing bull@^&!) down to $1496 (tax, shipping, etc). e1505 totally maxed out (2ghz, 1gb ram, 256 x1400, 100gb @ 7200, carbon fiber quicksnap cover). I am sooooo happy, i cant wait to get it. i love dell now. thanks for all your help through my long, challenging path towards buying a laptop. peace.

    chris!

That sounds great man. Enjoy it and take care of it. Reformatting or manual cleanup?

I ordered almost the same exact thing a few hours before the old $750 off coupon expired. I also got 2GHz, 1GB RAM, ATI x1400, and 7,200RPM 100GB, but got the charcoal leather Quicksnap instead and 2 year warranty with complete care all for about $1400 after taxes and junk. The only problem is that the extra 9 cell batter I ordered with it is delayed almost 2 weeks and my estimated ship date is September 1st. So I'm just wondering what your estimated ship date is, and if you got the 9 cell battery or not. Thanks.

    Congrat cfakoury!!!
Great system you got there. :)

I guess calling Dell directly is the only way to get the better deals now. I miss the coupons already. :(

its a long story, but to sum it up i had one picked out and my dad told them i was waiting for tax free weekend (which i didnt even qualify for, but they gave it to me anyway :p) so they gave it to me @ the price i was quoted in the end of july. plus my dad is just really good at talking people down :D.
