Since this is an international forum, it really helps to point out the currency ;) I would have to assume that's USD since CAD would be an amazing deal. Even in USD it looks like a steal. Are you planning to upgrade the HDD aftermarket?

    yes it is in USD.

No plans to upgrade the harddrive why do you ask? I think I'll be fine with a 80 g 5400 rpm hdd.

    thanks mike. more opinions appreciated.

I'd recommend something like complete care, or accidental coverage, but thats just because of my huge mess up of late. Your probably more careful...

Good system tho, Harddrive my only concern on it, but if your good with...away u go..

Maybe RAM get 1GB on 1 Dimm, so u can upgrade later, or something to that effect...2GB would be a comfortable place to be.

Whats the video card, if it even matters. Im assuming thats why your getting an XPS.

Plus smart thing with the the e1505 to 1210 swap. warranty again is my only gripe with your sys now lol, but if ur cool with it...

So this is a refurbed M1210 with Intel GMA and 1GB Ram.... I think you could get brand new E1405 with more RAM for the same price. Is it really important to have a 12" screen?

Yea, but that Aero stuff uses graphics as well, otherwise it will just show up opaque rather than transparent...really cosmetic for vista, if it comes with the system.

FWIW, your deal is probably good by todays standards. Right after last Christmas I was getting similar M1210's from the Outlet (C2D 1.86, 1GB, 80GB, CDRW/DVD) for less than $700!!! (a few of them, as a matter of fact!)

It's interesting how pricing changes at the Outlet.

how the hell did you manage that?

I just canceled me order for the 2nd time. I'm going to buy a brand new system this time with the go 7400.

I just don't know why there are no deals for xps systems.

What is the smartest way to get a deal?

    Jeesh.

Sirius_GTO note to self, don't buy a system then ask opinions afterwards lol.

Can't really see any deals going on for your system really. Are you sure you couldnt find a 12" notebook elsewhere, cuz I am assuming that with the XPS, its more of a gaming, which I think u said before you not really into. Back in August there was no XPS M1210, it was just the M1210, so i cant remember if they jacked the price because they gave it the XPS prefix...

    Goodluck tho.

lancorp got an amazing deal tho, hopefully u can get the same.

yeah lol pretty stupid to ask for advice after I purchased.

If nothing pops up, I'm going with the original XPS M1210 that I built for $1700.

I don't see any other laptops of the same size and the same price that I would like.

Any info/advice let me know. Much appreciated thanks!
