    After/Before Christmas Prices?

    Will dells prices go up after Christmas or will they go down?
    I know less people are going to be buying laptops after Christmas so I assume Dell will put some good deals out there to get more business.

    What do you think?

    I think they end up being typical Dell. Exactly the same as always but them making it looks like the prices might be lower during Christmas.

    It is a very cyclical thing. If you find a good deal now, go for it. If you don't need a computer until after the holidays, wait. It has been my observation that Dell perhaps releases bigger/better coupons between major shopping events to drive lagging sales. They have stated that they will be moving away from coupons to a 'lower everyday price' which is generally regarded as a bad move.

    With DELL the price is always going down with time … If you consider short periods like 1 or 2 weeks then the price can go up and down depending on discounts at the time. But if you consider 1 or 2 months, definitely you can see a decrease in price.

    EDIT : The only exception I can think of is Vista (It could be slightly more expensive than XP, so if DELL decide to ship only with Vista there could be a slight price hike)

    I'm checking the prices almost every day (even though I'm planning to buy a new laptop sometime in Feb. ) and I think the prices LOOK lower but in fact are a little bit higher. On top of that there are no really good coupons (what I'm waiting for is the 30% or 750$ off).

    There is a dell's days of deal going on...deals on periferals.
    Also in canada there is 7 5% off mystery coupon deal going on. Some of you by mistake have received in email as 75% off. The 7 was just a typo.
    Wait...its not even 5% discount its actually 4.8%
